Since the late 1990s, the Office of Public Works (OPW) and the Department of Finance, Northern Ireland (DoF) have worked in partnership organising an annual touring art exhibition. This year the focus is on artworks depicting creatures of the natural world and will be exhibited in line with Covid restrictions. The International Mezzotint Festival is a biennial event held in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Now in its fifth edition, the Festival is co-ordinated by Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts and represents the world's biggest celebration of the art of contemporary and historical mezzotint engraving. The Festival will be held over the month of August 2019 over a number of venues across Ekaterinburg.
Having exhibited in each of the first four Festivals, and being honoured to accept an award in 2015, this year I will be traveling to Russia to present my work in an three exhibitions: one of contemporary international printmaking; an exhibition of works from the collection of the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, and; a separate fundraising campaign in support of ocean conservation.
Thanks to the kind invitation of the International Mezzotint Festival organisers and the generous support of Culture Ireland, I will also be involved in the technical demonstrations, talks, and cultural programme which form part of the Festival.

In the lead up to the Fifth International Mezzotint Festival, the Yeltsin Centre Art Gallery, Ekaterinburg, will host an exhibition of prints selected from the collection of the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts. My work will be included alongside that of 88 artists from around the world.

Held across a number of venues in Ekaterinburg, the Fifth edition of the International Mezzotint Festival will include a large scale exhibition of prints by international artists, curated exhibitions of contemporary art in the medium, an exhibition of historical engravings, a competition section, and solo presentations.

The Blue Rocker Project

This Sea Shepherd fundraising project will travel to Ekaterinburg for the duration of the International Mezzotint Festival. The original prints- which  have been created in response to the organisation's ocean conservation projects - will be exhibited together with information on each artist's specific area of concern regarding marine matters.
